Les Houches has some of the best cross country terrain in the whole Chamonix Valley with 7.5km of trails situated at a snowsure altitude at the top of the Prarion lift, and more down at Les Chavants.

Les Houches is a perfect ski resort for beginners & intermediates with 90% of piste trails dedicated to them. For novices there are two short gentle slopes gloriously located at the top of both the Prarion gondola and the Bellevue cable car. The gentler & longer of the two is at the top of Bellevue.

Is Chamonix OK for beginners?
Every skier and snowboarder, without exception, was once a beginner too! The biggest secret in Chamonix’s vast expanse of skiing is that it has great learner areas. There are a number of ski areas in Chamonix which provides easy slopes for quick progression to intermediate and more advanced terrain.
Can I ski from Les Houches to St Gervais?
You’ll need to Register first of course. It is possible to ski through the trees to St Gervais but there in lies the problem, it’s not often that it’s skiable. It could be back on the agenda to put a lift in as the pass now covers St Gervais etc.
How snow-sure is Les Menuires?
Les Menuires is one of the highest ski resorts in the world. Snow (or fake snow) is all but guaranteed from mid-Dec to mid-Apr. Skiing is mostly for intermediates.
