How long is the barge from Inskip to Fraser?

Do you need to book barge to Fraser?
A booking is not necessary as it runs back and forwards from Inskip Point to Hook Point all day. – from 6am till 6.00pm in the summer. However there is a fee for the crossing over to Fraser island on the barge. You can either pay on board with cash or by Eftpos on the upper deck.
How long does the barge take to Fraser Island?
The journey takes approximately 50 minutes. Guests are advised to arrive at the mainland reception 40 minutes prior to ferry departure for check in. A courtesy shuttle from the Mainland Reception to ferry will leave 10 minutes prior to ferry departure time.
Where does the Fraser barge leave from?

Fraser Island Ferries Barges and ferry services run daily from River Heads (20 minutes south of Hervey Bay) to World Heritage-listed Fraser Island. Services also run from Inskip Point to Hook Point in the south (note: these are run by the Manta Ray not by Fraser Island Barges).
How long does it take from Hook Point to Eurong?
Only attempt this drive 2 hours either side of low tide as the beach around Hook Point can be very soft at high tide. When you exit the barge turn right and follow the beach ( 75 Mile Beach) to Eurong.
How much is a Fraser Island vehicle permit?
Ferry pricing to get on and off the island vary, and prices range from $105 -$350 per vehicle for a return journey from either River Heads or Inskip Point. Camping permits are $6.55 per person per night with discounts for families or students. Camping fees are site-specific and can be booked up for 6 months in advance.
Do you need to be vaccinated to go to Fraser Island?
Following the latest update from the Queensland Government, resort and tour operations will be open to all guests effective from 1am on the 14th of April, and a double vaccination status will no longer be required. We recommend checking the latest government updates prior to travel.
Can you take a 2WD to Fraser Island?
The resort itself is accessible by 2WD but 2WD vehicles are not permitted off the resort. There are also ferries from Rainbow Beach, but you will land directly on 75 mile beach and will definitely have to be driving a 4wd to access this part of the island. Departure times may be affected by the tides.
Can you drive your own car on Fraser Island?
Fraser Island is only suitable for 4WD exploration. You will only be able to drive 2WD vehicles around Kingfisher Bay Resort. You will need a vehicle access permit to drive a 4WD on Fraser Island. All vehicles brought onto Fraser Island must have a current Vehicle Service Permit (VSP).
How long is the barge from Hervey Bay to Fraser?
approximately 30 minutes
The Fraser Venture departs River Heads (20 minutes south of Hervey Bay) daily, landing at Wanggoolba Creek on the western side of Fraser Island. Crossing time taking approximately 30 minutes.
How far is Eurong from Hook Point?
approx 35 km
The trip to Eurong is approx 35 km and can be made at low tide along the beach around Hook Point or at high tide along the inland road. Barge access is also available from River Heads at Hervey Bay.
