How do I reconstitute naxcel?
NAXCEL Sterile Powder should be reconstituted as follows: 1 gram vial—Reconstitute with 20 mL Sterile Water for Injection. Each mL of the resulting solution contains ceftiofur sodium equivalent to 50 mg ceftiofur. 4 gram vial—Reconstitute with 80 mL Sterile Water for Injection.
How do you administer naxcel?
Dosage & Administration
- A single subcutaneous injection 1 ml of Naxcel per 30 kg bodyweight administered at the base of the ear.
- To ensure a correct dosage, bodyweight should be accurately determined to avoid under-dosing.
- It is recommended to limit injection volumes to a maximum of 30 ml per injection site.
Does naxcel need to be refrigerated?
Excenel: The Excenel does not need to be refrigerated. The Naxcel can also be stored at room temperature until it is reconstituted.
How often can you give Nuflor?
CATTLE: NUFLOR Injectable Solution should be administered to cattle either by a single subcutaneous injection at a dose rate of 40 mg/kg body weight (6 mL/45 kg); or by intramuscular injection at a dose of 20 mg/kg body weight (3 mL/45 kg), a total of two doses with a 48 hour interval should be given.
Can you freeze naxcel?
Contraindications: None Storage Conditions: Reconstituted in refrigerator for 7 days or at room temperature for 12 hours. Freeze for up to 8 weeks.
Can you give naxcel to dogs?
Reconstituted NAXCEL Sterile Powder is to be administered to dogs by subcutaneous injection. No vial closure should be entered more than 20 times. Therefore, only the 1 gram vial is approved for use in dogs.
