What is IODOFLEX paste?
Description. IODOFLEX Pads are sterile formulations of Cadexomer Iodine. When applied to the wound, they absorb fluids, removing exudate, pus and debris and forming a gel over the wound surface. As they absorb, iodine is released, killing bacteria and changing color.
How long can you use IODOFLEX for?
Do not use continuously for more than three months. To minimize the possibility of cross-contamination, a single IODOFLEX* pad should be limited to use on one patient. Some patients may experience slight transient pain during the first hour of application.
How do you apply IODOFLEX to a wound?

- Choose a suitable size of dressing for the wound. 5g for wounds up to 6cm x 4cm.
- Clean wound and surrounding area with a gentle stream of water or saline.
- Remove carrier gauze on both sides of paste.
- Apply Iodoflex to wound surface.
- Can be used for up to 3 months in a single course of treatment.

What is in hydrogel dressing?
Hydrogel dressings are composed of about 90% water suspended in a gel made up of insoluble hydrophilic polymers which swell up on contact with water. They are typically made from polymers of synthetic molecules, such as polymethacrylate and polyvinylpyrrolidine, and some are combined with alginate dressings.
What does Inadine do to a wound?
Inadine dressings slowly release iodine on contact, with wound exudate providing antimicrobial killing action on the wound surface. This non-adherent dressing releases iodine at a rate dependent on the amount of wound exudate.

What is Iodoflex used to treat?
IODOFLEX* is designed with cadexomer beads that absorb slough, soft necrotic tissue and exudate. As the beads absorb fluid, the broad spectrum antimicrobial activity of 0.9% iodine is released for up to 72 hours.
Does Iodosorb kill MRSA?
Because IODOSORB contains elemental iodine, it is effective against a wide range of pathogenic bacteria, fungi, yeasts which can delay wound healing. Iodine is also highly effective against Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA). There have been no reports of acquired resistance with iodine.
Can I take Iodoflex If I am allergic to iodine?
If you have an allergy to cadexomer iodine or any other part of Iodoflex (cadexomer iodine gel pad). If you are allergic to Iodoflex (cadexomer iodine gel pad); any part of Iodoflex (cadexomer iodine gel pad); or any other drugs, foods, or substances.

Clean the wound and the surrounding area with either a gentle stream of sterile water or saline. Do not dry the wound surface. Remove the carrier gauze on both sides of the paste using aseptic technique. Cut or mold to the shape of the wound. Apply to the wound surface. Any remaining IODOFLEX* should be discarded.
