What is lasanta?
Lasanta is the replacement for the old Glenmorangie Sherry Finish although, to be fair, this new one is a bit stronger at 46%. It says here that ‘Lasanta’ means ‘Warmth and Passion’ in Gaelic, which is nice.
What type of casks is the 12yo Glenmorangie Lasanta finished in?
This is the 12 year old, Sherry cask finished expression from Glenmorangie, dubbed The Lasanta. It first matures in bourbon casks before being moved over to Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks for a finishing period. Plenty rich and creamy with dark chocolate, dried fruit and fresh honey.
Is Glenfiddich and Glenmorangie the same?
Both Glenmorangie and Glenfiddich are good and affordable entry-level single malts but the Glenmorangie makes a better dram as it is a bit more flavorful and complex than the Glenfiddich which is too basic.

Glenmorangie’s Nectar d’Or is a 12 Year Old whisky finished in Sauternes casks. This is sweet and spicy with notes of ginger, nutmeg lemon meringue and honeycomb.
What does Glenmorangie 12 taste like?
Raspberry taffy, waxy vanilla, raisins, cinnamon, toasted malt, nuts, and a touch of leather and freeze-dried blueberries. Dark and lovely, the aroma is definitely my favorite part of this whisky. Raspberry taffy, waxy vanilla, citrus zest, raisins, roasted nuts, leather, cinnamon, malt and touches of copper and oak.
Is Glenmorangie a good whisky?
Excellent! Despite being so ubiquitous, this is a favourite lighter Scottish malt of mine to enjoy. Highly Recommended (48% of all whiskies I’ve reviewed to date get this recommendation or higher). I think this is a great single malt, and a personal go-to for light-medium bodied Scotch whiskies.

What whisky is similar to Glenmorangie?
Yep, Glengoyne 12 definitely worth a try, similar profile to Glenmorangie 10. Also Balblair 2005 as recommended above – Balblair is one of my favourite distilleries, and it’s a close neighbour of Glenmorangie as well (just a few miles down the road!).
Is Glenmorangie Nectar D or sweet?
Honey, malt, sultanas, dried apples, vanilla cake, bananas, light melon rind, wax and spice. The aroma is nice. It’s pleasant, it’s sweet, it’s interesting, but things really kick off with this one with what comes next.
